Concrete Services

We pour residential concrete slabs for a range of applications.

Every job includes site prep, forming, reinforcement, and finishing appropriate for the use.

Patio Slabs

Backyard patios for outdoor living. Standard broom finish or stamped/stained decorative options. Sized and sloped for proper drainage.

Driveway Slabs

New driveways or driveway extensions. Reinforced for vehicle loads with proper expansion joints to prevent cracking.

Garage Pads

Slabs for detached garages, carports, or workshop buildings. Includes thickened edges for wall framing.

Addition Foundations

Slab-on-grade foundations for room additions, sunrooms, and home expansions. Coordinated with the framing that follows.

Sidewalks & Walkways

Front walks, side yards, and paths connecting outdoor spaces. Proper grading to direct water away from the house.

Shed & Equipment Pads

Level pads for storage sheds, AC units, generators, and outdoor equipment.

What Happens Before the Pour

The concrete itself is the easy part. What separates a slab that lasts from one that cracks is everything that happens before the truck shows up. Here's what proper site prep looks like.

Before We Pour:

  • Excavation & Grading — Remove topsoil, grade the site, and establish proper slope for drainage away from structures.

  • Soil Compaction — Compact the subgrade to prevent settling. Louisiana clay is notorious for movement—compaction reduces that risk.

  • Base Material — Add and compact a gravel or crusite base layer for drainage and load distribution.

  • Forming — Set forms to the correct dimensions, height, and slope. Forms define the edges and thickness of your slab.

  • Reinforcement — Install rebar, wire mesh, or fiber reinforcement depending on the application and load requirements.

  • Drainage Planning — Ensure water flows away from the slab and away from your home's foundation.

Skip any of these steps, and the slab pays the price. We don't skip steps.

Why Baton Rouge Homeowners Choose Built Right

We're local—not a franchise.

You'll work directly with our team, not a national call center. We live and work in the same parishes we serve.

We do real remodels—not overlays.

Some companies cover up problems with snap-in panels. We fix what's underneath and build something that lasts.

One team, start to finish.

We handle demo, plumbing, electrical, tile, and finishing. No juggling subcontractors or chasing down different crews.

Transparent pricing.

You'll get a detailed estimate before any work starts. No hidden fees, no surprise charges at the end.

We clean up after ourselves.

Your home isn't a construction site. We protect your floors, contain the dust, and leave your space clean at the end of each day.

Concrete Services in Baton Rouge

Good concrete starts with what's underneath.

In Louisiana, that means understanding the soil, the drainage, and what the slab needs to support. Get it wrong, and you're looking at cracks, settling, and expensive repairs down the road.

Built Right Renovations pours concrete slabs for patios, driveways, garage pads, addition foundations, and more. We handle the prep, the pour, and the finishing—built for this climate and this soil.

How a Built Right Concrete Pour Works

STEP 1

Free Consultation

We visit the site, discuss what you need the slab for, and assess soil and drainage conditions. You'll get a detailed quote with no hidden fees.

STEP 2

Site Prep

Excavation, grading, compaction, and base material. We set the forms and install reinforcement based on the slab's intended use.

STEP 3

Concrete Pour

We schedule the concrete delivery and pour the slab in one continuous operation. No cold joints, no weak spots.

STEP 4

Finishing

We screed, float, and finish the surface—broom finish for traction, smooth finish for covered areas, or stamped/stained for decorative applications.

STEP 5

Curing & Cleanup

The slab needs time to cure properly. We remove forms, clean up the site, and let you know when it's ready for use.

Why Baton Rouge Homeowners Choose Built Right

We're local.

You work directly with our team, not a call center. We live here, work here, and we'll be here after the job is done.

We're not just a concrete company.

We're a general contractor. That means if your slab is part of a bigger project—an addition, a garage, an outdoor kitchen—we coordinate the concrete with everything that follows. No waiting on a separate crew.

We understand Louisiana soil.

Clay-heavy soil that swells and shrinks is the norm here. We prep for it with proper compaction, base material, and drainage so your slab doesn't crack or settle.

Transparent pricing.

You'll get a detailed estimate before any work starts. No hidden fees, no surprise charges at the end.

Concrete That Cracks Costs You Twice

A slab looks simple—until it starts cracking, settling, or heaving a few years later.

Most failures aren't about the concrete itself. They're about what's underneath: soil that wasn't compacted, water that wasn't directed away, or a base that wasn't thick enough. Louisiana soil is especially unforgiving—it expands, shrinks, and shifts in ways that stress concrete from below.

Built Right builds concrete for this climate.

Proper base prep, proper thickness, proper reinforcement, and proper drainage. It costs a little more upfront. It saves a lot more later.

Canton's company was competitively priced for the job we wanted them to do. It was a relatively small job but required multiple trades to complete. I was surprised they were able and happy to take it on. They paid attention to detail, had itemized billing, and were very responsive and adaptable when we wanted to make changes to the requested job.
